How to Plan the Perfect Baby Shower!

Homemade Baby Shower Favors

A baby shower is a very exciting time. All the girls get together to celebrate a little life which is about to enter the world. Not to mention the chance to gossip like crazy.

It’s a wonderful thing to have friends to share in this exciting time of your life. A great way to thank them is by creating a homemade baby shower favor.

Your guests will appreciate the fact that you took the time to create a homemade baby shower favor especially for them. A really great idea for a favor to make at home is scented bath salts.

Ladies love a hot bath where they can steal a moment to themselves and soak in the steaming, sweet smelling water. Who wouldn’t want to be given a moment’s peace as a gift?

Here is what you’ll need to make them:

- A large box of Epsom Salt. (You can buy these at any drugstore, and they’re great because they soak the aches and pains from your muscles!)

- Crinkly clear or colored cellophane. (You can get this from a party supply store or a craft store.)

- A bottle of sweet smelling essential oil. 1/2 oz. (Jasmine and Lavender are great scents. You can get this from an herb shop or an aromatherapy store.)

- Colored ribbons. (Craft store or department.)

- Parchment paper, 1 sheet for every 4 guests. (You can also get this from a craft supply store.)

Here is how to make this homemade baby shower favor:

1. Make sure you know how many guests will be coming. Place the entire box of the Epsom salt into a large mixing bowl or pot. Pour in the entire bottle of oil, and mix this together with a wooden spoon.

2. Mix until all particles of the salt are covered or scented. Cut the cellophane paper into six inch squares. Using a ladle or spoon, place a heap of the scented salts in the middle of the squares.

3. Gather the edges of the cellophane together and tie a length of colored ribbon around the ‘bag’ to hold the scented bath salts in.

4. Next, cut the pieces of parchment paper into four equal squares. In your prettiest handwriting, place the name of the recipient on the paper and write them a small thank you note for joining in your celebration.

5. Add the date of the party, and roll the parchment up like you would a map. Use the leftover hangings of ribbon on each homemade baby shower favor to attach the note. Place these little favors on the corresponding guest’s seat at the party. T

These are really simple, beautiful homemade baby shower favors. Also, the smell of them is just heavenly. While you are mixing them, you will probably be tempted to sneak into your own warm bath to relax.

Well, use any extras for yourself. They are calming, relaxing, and great for sore or tired muscles. Your guests will remember you when they are soaking in a tub of beautifully scented water. They will appreciate the thought that you put into them, and will keep the parchment for many years to come.
